Frontiers of Quantum and Mesoscopic Thermodynamics
July 14, 2019 - July 20, 2019 , Prague, Czech Republic

FQMT’19 is the next event of the series of the previous, successful Prague conferences "Frontiers of Quantum and Mesoscopic Thermodynamics". The conference is focused on Non-equilibrium phenomena mainly in mesoscopic and biological systems, cold atoms and molecules.

2019 Quantum Thermodynamics Conference - Finland
June 23, 2019 - June 28, 2019 , Espoo, Finland

This is the annual conference following those in Santa Barbara (2018), Oxford (2017), Erice (2016), Porquerolles (2015), Mallorca (2015), and Berlin (2014). As in every conference in the series, a small selection of invited talks and tutorials have been determined, and we welcome your contributions to the event in order to make it a success. The conference website can be accessed at where you will find an abstract submission webpage ending 15 February 2019.

Entropy Special Issue: Energy, Entropy and Information in Nano- and Quantum-Electronics
June 20, 2019 - March 31, 2020 , Entropy

Due to their high degree of control, small electronic systems provide ideal candidates to investigate thermodynamics on the nanoscale. In particular, all ingredients required to investigate heat and energy transport, as well as the thermodynamics of information, are available. This Special Issue aims at providing a focus on modern developments in the highly exciting topics related to energy, entropy, and information in nano- and quantum-electronics.

International school "Complex quantum systems out of equilibrium in many-body physics and beyond"
May 27, 2019 - May 31, 2019 , Yerevan, Armenia

The school will consist of introductory lectures aimed at graduate students, postdocs, and junior researchers. Topics include – far from equilibrium physics, many-body coherent dynamics, Anderson and many-body localization, and quantum information processing from many-body physics prospective.

JETC 2019 - Joint European Thermodynamics Conference - Barcelona, Spain
May 20, 2019 - May 24, 2019 , Barcelona, Spain

The 2019 edition of the Joint European Thermodynamics Conference will be held in Barcelona, Spain, May 20-24, 2019. For details about the scope of the event and links to the previous editions visit the conference website:

Nanoscale and Microscale Heat Transfer VI - workshop
Dec. 2, 2018 - Dec. 7, 2018 , Levi, Lapland, Finland

The workshop will present the state-of-the-art and the modern trends of nanoscale and microscale heat/energy transfer. It will focus on phenomena at short length and time scales, where the laws of physics used in classical heat transfer are no longer valid. Heat conduction and energy transport, driven by the mesoscopic transport of electrons and phonons and thermal radiation at sub-wavelength scale are the typical topics tackled in the seminar as well as non-equilibrium and quantum effects.

684. WE-Heraeus-Seminar "Advances in open systems and fundamental tests of quantum mechanics"
Dec. 2, 2018 - Dec. 5, 2018 , Bad Honnef, Germany

This seminar aims at reporting about recent results in the foundations of open quantum systems and its connection with the most advanced experiments testing the basic features of quantum mechanics, from the microscopic to the macroscopic regime. Participants are expected to cover their travel costs, the generous support of the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation will support local costs, including accommodations and meals for all participants. Deadline for application: September 28, 2018.

Entropy Special issue: Fluctuation Relations and Nonequilibrium Thermodynamics
Oct. 1, 2018 - Dec. 31, 2019 , Entropy

The areas covered in this Special Issue include but are not restricted to: *) Fluctuation relations in classical stochastic thermodynamics *) Definitions of work, heat, and entropy and related fluctuation theorems in quantum systems *) Quantum engines and refrigerators *) Resource theory of quantum thermodynamics *) Role of quantum correlations and coherence in quantum thermodynamics Dr. Gabriele De Chiara Guest Editor

School & Workshop on Quantum and Nano Thermodynamics
Sept. 27, 2018 - Sept. 29, 2018 , Älvkarleby Tourist & Conference Hotel, Älvkarleby, Sweden

The main aim is creating an environment for both student and researchers to share and discuss their knowledge and ideas about the topics of quantum & nano thermodynamics and also contributing to the education of graduate students. All researchers and students studying on or interested in the topics are welcome. Registration is free of charge and limited to 40 participants.
