Two postdoctoral positions in thermodynamics of quantum non-equilibrium systems at Trinity College D
Jan. 19, 2018 , Trinity College Dublin

Two postdoctoral positions are available to work in the newly founded Thermodynamics and energetics of quantum systems group (QuSys) in the School of Physics at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland lead by Prof. John Goold.

PhD position
Jan. 1, 2018 , RWTH Aachen/ Chalmers, Gothenburg

PhD position cotutored between RWTH Aachen, Germany, and Chalmers, Sweden. Within the graduate school (RTG 1995) at the RWTH Aachen University, we announce a specific Ph.D position in the area of 'Geometric and topological transport in open quantum many-body systems' envisaging applications in particular to time-dependent control of heat transport, entropy production and other topics in quantum thermodynamics. For questions regarding the project, contact M. Wegewijs and J. Splettstoesser.

PhD position in Nanoscale and Quantum Thermodynamics, Theory
Jan. 1, 2018 - Jan. 31, 2018 , Physics Department, Lund University, Sweden

The PhD student shall develop the theoretical description of fluctuations of thermodynamic quantities on the nanoscale. Particular focus will be on quantum mechanical, thermodynamic phenomena in open systems that are in a non-equilibrium state, a rapidly expanding field of research linking concepts and ideas from solid state physics, statistical mechanics and information theory. In addition, there is a direct link to experimental activities within NanoLund. For questions contact Peter Samuelsson
