Doctoral student in physics with focus on quantum transport and quantum thermodynamics
Nov. 22, 2019 - Dec. 20, 2019 , Lund University

The PhD position will focus on theoretical studies of quantum transport in quantum dots and/or one-dimensional nanowires under the effects of external voltages, photons (in the visible range, or in the microwave regime in superconducting cavities), phonons and temperature gradients. Theoretical studies of (quantum) thermodynamic machines might also undertaken. The research will involve both numerical and analytical calculations, and will include close collaborations with experimental groups.

Postdoctoral Fellow in Quantum Thermodynamics
Nov. 1, 2019 - Jan. 3, 2020 , Queen's University Belfast

A postdoctoral research position to undertake theoretical research on “Quantum Thermodynamics” for 30 months from 01/05/2020 to 31/10/2022 is open for applications until 03/01/2020. This post will be funded by an EPSRC grant entitled “Quantum Many-Body Engines” awarded to Dr. Gabriele De Chiara. The project will be conducted in collaboration with experimental groups working on ultracold atomic setups with the aim of designing and realising experimentally quantum thermodynamic machines.

PhD position in non-equilibrium quantum many-body physics
Oct. 11, 2019 , Mainz, Germany

We announce the opening of one PhD position on non-equilibrium many-body theory in the Institute of Physics at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz to work in the group of Jun. Prof. Dr. J. Marino ( Review of the applications will start immediately!

Doctoral student in Nanoscale Quantum Thermodynamics
Sept. 1, 2019 , Physics Department, Lund University

The doctoral student is expected to perform theoretical work in quantum thermodynamics, focusing on electronic properties of nanosystems. It will consist of developing theoretical models for and describing transport and fluctuations of energy and charge in different nanosystems. The work will consist of both analytical calculations and numerical simulations, employing tools such as scattering theory, quantum master equations and different path integral approaches.
